Project: Turning solar energy into a high return of investment venture
In 2021, we began working with WJHiscock & Son Ltd, a small commercial property business operating in the north of England. After several meetings we began working on a climate plan with a mission to:
Business objectives: Evaluate and measure the greenhouse gas emissions of operations and supply chain. After initial talks, WJHiscock has agreed to measure its scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas emissions based on the GHG Protocol and will release its findings annually. It also states a mission to reach Carbon Neutral by the end of 2023 and Net Zero by 2030.”
What we have done up until July 2022:
- We reached Carbon Neutrality after measuring scope 1 and 2 emissions, putting in place reduction targets and offsetting the remaining emissions.
- Huge savings could be made by installing solar panels on owned property with our partners at Smart Homes Electrical. Proposed energy savings accounted to over £500,000 over 20 years.
- The company could use the UK government’s super deductions offer to reduce its spending on tax.
- We began engaging key stakeholders like banks, solicitors, accountants, demonstrating the company’s commitment to Net Zero.
What they thought of our services:
“Climate and carbon emissions is the big issue facing all companies. KGM Climate helped us navigate all the technical jargon and created a fantastic carbon plan for us to follow. It was remarkable to see the huge financial benefit a climate plan could be to us. We were not overwhelmed with information, they understood our business, they listened to our objectives, they will help us to achieve our long-term goals.”
